So, I’m a little weird...

Sometimes, I sit in my kitchen and just look at my cabinets. They’re old. Really old. I’m talking maybe 60s/70s old. And, they have all the wear that can be expected. You know, rub marks, little scratches, stuff like that. Doesn’t that just drive you up a wall?

I mean, these cabinets could be beautiful, IF they were restored. But, I don’t know about you, but I don’t want to spend upwards of a thousand dollars to hire someone to do it. So, what were my options?

Do it myself? I’d need to get a sander and spend HOURS stripping away the varnish. On the other hand, I COULD get brand new cabinets... But, it would be a shame to just throw away what could be beautiful kitchen cabinets. All that potential would be wasted. But, there was a third option...

Just leave them as-is for the next five years! Uh... no thanks! So, I decided to go to that big orange home improvement store to see if there was something I was overlooking. And, what I found, I could not believe...

So, there I was, talking to the cabinet expert. He was telling me I was best off just getting new cabinets. And, he almost had me sold. I mean, why wouldn’t I want to spend thousands of dollars on brand new cabinets. And, well I’m at it, why not just get a whole new kitchen remodel? (If you can’t tell, I’m leaning heavily on the sarcasm right now.) So, after talking to him, I was right back where I was, between a rock and a hard place. Until...
